Public Health
If we’re truly going to effect change and rise to the challenges facing our community, our state and our world, we need more leaders. Good leaders. Passionate leaders. We’re working to develop these needed individuals with such programs as our annual Leadership Conference, the Kansas Community Leadership Initiative, Fellows Program and the GROW (Giving Resources to Our World) healthy Kansas initiatives. The Kansas Health Foundation Leadership Center – opening in Wichita spring 2007 – will serve as a dynamic source of inspiration, skill building and information sharing. Watch for it.
The Value of Listening
The Foundation team went on a major listening tour throughout the state in 1988. In every corner of the state, in towns large and small, we heard a similar cry. People needed more leaders. They wanted individuals with a clear vision for their communities, the ability to bring people together to achieve common goals, and a deep love for their fellow Kansans.
Raising Up Leaders
Leadership development is human development. It takes time, resources and dedication. That’s why we’re here. We offer all three.
Mission
To improve the health of all Kansans by nurturing leaders who engage individuals, mobilize communities and transform organizations; and by building and sustaining philanthropic resources.
